Zombie Storm Announcement
A survival game that puts you in the shoes of a group of people who wake up in a world where everything that existed has disappeared, with only the remains of zombies roaming the desert. You must fight against the undead and manage your resources to survive, such as food and water. Besides battling waves of zombies, you can also explore radiated dead zones, where you will need to use gas masks to avoid toxic chemicals.
During a year that already has wildfires ravaging the West Coast and hurricanes flooding the Southeast, the National Weather Service has gifted us with an additional horror: Zombie tropical storms.
The first example was the rebirth of Tropical Storm Paulette. The storm began as a depression over western Africa, and by September 12, it had reached hurricane status as it approached Bermuda. It then weakened to tropical storm strength and began dissipating over the Atlantic Ocean on September 23.
But then, on Wednesday, the NWS tweeted that Paulette was back as a "Zombie Tropical Storm." A zombie storm is one that weakens into a post-tropical storm but re-forms into a tropical or subtropical cyclone. Scientists have seen this occur before, including with Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
The phenomenon occurs in the warm Gulf Stream waters of the Atlantic, and scientists blame climate change for the increase in its occurrences. However, they aren't entirely sure why it happens. It could be that the hotter weather makes it easier for zombie storms to re-form.
